Shomar M. Searchwell is an Associate at Alden Law Group and contributes to all aspects of the firm’s litigation work.
Before joining the firm, Shomar worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), primarily defending employment law claims before the Equal Employment Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Merit Systems Protection Board. Prior to Shomar’s time at the federal government, he worked at an employee benefits and plaintiff-side employment law firm where he represented public and private sector employees in cases before administrative, state, and federal courts.
EDUCATION
Shomar earned his J.D. with a Concentration in Health Law from The George Washington University Law School in May 2020. While in law school, Shomar interned with Magistrate Judge Gina L. Simms in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and with the Departmental Appeals Board, within HHS. In addition, he worked as a Student-Attorney for the Health Rights Law Clinic at the Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics, advocating for low-income clients before the DC Office of Administrative Hearings.
